Breast lift procedures can provide desired results for many patients. When restoring the characteristics of youthful breasts, the goal is to leave the fewest scars possible. However, when the skin has become overstretched it is impossible to correct without any scars. Breast Lift Consultation

Dr. Hubbard offers breast surgery consultations in his office at the Dallas Plastic Surgery Institute, or at his Plano, Texas location. During your consultation, he will discuss your goals with you and help you determine if you are a good candidate for a breast lift (mastopexy). He will also discuss where the resulting scar will be. The more lifting that is required, the larger the scar will have to be. For minor breast lifts, the scar will be limited to the edge of the areola. For medium breast lifts the scar will be around the areola and a vertical line from the areola to the fold below the breast (aka lollipop incision). For more significant lifts, a scar running horizontally in the fold below the breast is necessary.

Upon learning about your goals for the procedure, Dr. Hubbard will also be able to discuss with you whether or not a breast augmentation might be required in order to achieve the results you are looking for. He will never try to sway a patient one way or the other. Only provide realistic expectations of the outcome of a breast lift surgery.

Breast Lift Surgery Care & Recovery

The breast lift procedure takes 2 hours and is performed with general anesthesia at our Dallas day surgery center. No drains are used, and no sutures will need to be removed. You will go home the day of your surgery, but you will need someone to handle the driving. Showering is usually allowed the day after surgery. You will need to wear a non-underwire sports bra all the time for the first 1 to 2 weeks. Within about 7 to 10 days, most women can return to light activity, including work; more strenuous exercise may be resumed after about a month.

The Final Result

While you will likely have some minor bruising and swelling for the first week after your surgical procedure, it’s immediately rewarding to see your more youthful, firm and perky breasts. Scars on the breast fade over time and are very rarely a concern or in need of revision. Many of our patients express increased self-confidence, in addition to being thrilled with their enhanced breasts.
