Cellulite is cause by bands of connective tissue that weave through areas of fat, pulling down on the skin and creating the dimpling effect that bothers so many people. Cellulite is most common in women, although it can occur on men as well. Cellulite is not dangerous, but rather something that can be bothersome for esthetic reasons.
The problem with cellulite is that is not necessarily something that can be improved through diet and exercise, so many women find themselves frustrated and self-conscious about their thighs and buttocks despite being physically fit. One of the most common things we hear is “I feel uncomfortable in a bathing suit or even naked in front of my husband”.
Until very recently, there have not been any truly effective treatments for cellulite, although consumers continue to pour money into expensive creams or rolling devices in hopes of ridding themselves of their unsightly dimples. While some treatments may show signs of some improvement, none will be long term.
The Cellfina™ System has been FDA-cleared to improve the appearance of cellulite for at least a year, which is exciting news for patients looking to improve the texture of their skin. Cellfina™ can only be performed by a qualified physician and is currently only available in very limited locations. In fact, the only Cellfina™ System currently available in the state of Texas is at the Dallas Plastic Surgery Institute! Dr. Hubbard, a board certified plastic surgeon, has already performed several successful procedures using the Cellfina™ System and has seen great results for his patients.
So how does Cellfina™ work?
The procedure is minimally invasive, requiring only a local anesthetic. A small, needled sized device is inserted into the targeted areas to release the bands responsible for cellulite. All of Dr. Hubbard’s patients so far have reported little to no pain and only minor bruising and swelling in the areas treated.
How long will it take?
You can expect your procedure to last around 45 minutes, depending on your case and you will experience little to no downtime.
How much does Cellfina™ cost?
The total cost will vary and depend on your individual case. You can contact our office to schedule a consultation with Dr. Hubbard to see if you are a good candidate for Cellfina™.
