Brazilian Butt Lift in DallasTexas

The Brazilian butt lift or “BBL” is a surgical option for both women and men that are looking to enhance the shape of their buttocks. The Brazilian butt lift procedure works in two ways. Using liposuction the excess fat is first removed from areas such as your abdomen, flanks, back and legs, or other areas of unwanted fat. The living fat cells removed from unwanted areas are then transplanted to where you need it the most to achieve the silhouette you desire. Using your own fat, you can both improve the shape and volume of the buttocks.

Like all plastic surgeryindividual results vary depending on the wants and needs of the individual, as well as their diet and lifestyle before and after surgery. A BBL does not necessary need to mean a large bum. Many people are interested in this procedure to add a more subtle contour or smooth out areas of cellulite or  “hip dip”.

Brazilian Butt Lift Consultation

During your consultation at our Dallas or PlanoTexas locations, Dr. Hubbard will discuss your desired final results and help you decide if a Brazilian butt lift is the right procedure for you.  First, he will discuss your goals and expectations for the procedure. During the physical exam he will asses your body for the amount of fat he will be able to remove as well as check your buttocks, hip and leg anatomy to plan the ideal locations for augmentation.

How do you know if you are an ideal candidate for butt augmentation through fat transfer? Usually, if a patient wears a size 8 to 12 they are probably well suited for fat transfer. Thinner patients who wear size two to four are usually not good candidates because they may not have enough fat to spare.

Brazilian Butt Lift Surgery and Recovery

The Brazilian butt lift is performed under general anesthesia and surgery lasts a maximum of 3 to 4 hours. Patients can choose to return home the same day or stay overnight in one of our post-surgical hotel suits that offer nursing care. Most patients prefer to stay overnight. No drains are used and no stitches will have to be removed.

Swelling and bruising are common after surgery, but resolve quickly within two weeks. Patients are fitted with compression garments to help reduce swelling and increase the rate of recovery.  After the procedure, you must wear a body garment for 6-8 weeks. You will also be asked to avoid sitting or laying directly on your buttocks as the compression of your body weight might injure the transplanted fat cells.

Most patients return to work after 10-14 days. Surprisingly the buttocks doesn’t have much discomfort at all, it is the areas of lipo that are sore for several days.

Almost all buttocks look better right after some added volume, however it is important to note that there is no way to guarantee a final volume. On average, 50-70% of the transplanted body fat will survive, however the best rule is what remains at 3 months will be yours forever.
