Whether your excess thigh skin is due to natural aging or substantial weight loss, a thigh lift might give you the leg contour you’ve always wanted. Much like an arm lift, there is a trade off that is made in this surgery. You must be willing to trade a visible scar for an improvement in contour. See all before and after plastic surgery gallery pictures.

Thigh Lift Consultation

During the consultation, Dr. Hubbard will first make sure you are medially fit for the surgery. Assuming you are, the next question is what is the best procedure for your thighs. If you are relatively young with full inner and/or outer thighs with good skin elasticity you would be a candidate for liposuction alone. If you have fullness and excess skin and/or poor skin elasticity you would be a candidate for liposuction with a thigh lift. If you just have excess skin you would be a candidate for thigh lift alone.

Thigh Lift After Care and Recovery

Thigh lift surgery is performed under general anesthesia. The procedure lasts approximately 3 hours. Afterword, a patient can return home the same day. A drain is placed in each leg and left for approximately 1 week. No stitches will have to be removed, as only absorbable suture material is used.

Swelling and bruising are common after surgery, but resolve quickly within two weeks. Patients are fitted with compressive garments to help reduce swelling and increase the rate of recovery.  Heavily lifting and should be limited in the first month following surgery.

Trading a scar for thin, toned legs is a personal decision only you can make. Even if undecided, Dr. Hubbard would be happy to help you determine if your goals and expectations match what thigh lift procedure can provide.

During your consultation Dr. Hubbard will discuss with you your goals and expectations and determine if this is the right procedure for you. To schedule your private consultation with Dr. Hubbard please email our office or call directly at 214.370.4813.
